Specialty Massages

  • Deep Tissue – Designed to remove or reduce tension, deep tissue massage is a technique used to relieve muscles, fascia, and other connective tissue below the surface. It helps to improve range of motion and heal injuries on a deeper level. It involves sinking to the layer of tension and working there. This technique works with different layers of tissue to relax, lengthen and release holding patterns.

  • Trigger Point Therapy – The release of tight, tender, highly sensitive nodes within tight bands of muscle that normally refer pain to other parts of the body and are not simply localized.

  • Stretching/Joint Mobilization – Bringing movement, flexibility and greater range of motion with the slow lengthening of soft tissue and freeing adhesions between bones.

  • Swedish – A nurturing, relaxation massage aiming to reduce stress and relieve tension. Swedish tends to be a more soothing massage but can also offer therapeutic benefits such as improved circulation, increased movement of lymphatic fluid, improved mood and sleep.

  • Integrative Deep Tissue – Looking at rotational patterns to find resistance, and then working to restore balance from one side of the body to the other side. Working with joints, fascia and muscles to find directional resistance and working to release strain patterns. I look at ways to create a connection and movement between the segments of the body. This allows the body to integrate the work, realign the segments and let the central nervous system to recalibrate how the body is connected
